The sensitivity is configurable using Logitech Options software for Mac, which installs a new icon in the ‘System Preferences’ panel. We tried on carpet, paper, mouse mat, jeans, or the arm of a leather sofa and they all worked perfectly with a high degree of accuracy. The high precision, 4000-DPi, sensor is able to track on virtually any surface. Logitech claims up to 70 days of use from a single charge and we have no reason to doubt this. Charging is performed via a Micro USB cable and remaining battery life is indicated by three green lights on the left hand side. Next to the horizontal scroll wheel are two small buttons which function as back / forward buttons.īattery life is excellent, routinely allowing several weeks of uninterrupted use before need to recharge. This wheel, can be switched from ratchet scrolling, for more precise control, to smooth free scrolling, perfect for scrolling left to right through a Final Cut Pro X timeline. Whereas most mice have a single scroll wheel, for scrolling up and down, the MX Master 2S’s second scroll wheel adds horizontal scrolling ability. Logitech solves this with a second scroll wheel on the left, close to where your thumb would normally sit. Something many video editors miss when switching from Apple’s mouse to a third party mouse is the ability to scroll from left to right. The mouse is very comfortable to hold, being ergonomically moulded to perfectly fit the average human hand, with the buttons perfectly placed for maximum ease of use.

The MX Master 2S is available in several colours, but the version reviewed here has a black rubberised surface with gunmetal grey trim (“graphite”).
